What occupies J. Daniel's time...

I read! Keeping up with all the technology changes and advances requires a constant vigil and with my interests in so many industries it eats a lot of time!

Just for fun, the pict at the left shows just some of the periodicals I consume either weekly or month. You probably can't read it but here is a partial list if you want to keep up with me:
The American Scholar, The Wall Street Journal, ECN, Rochester in Review, VoIP magazine, Information Week, The Economist, Var Business, CE Pro, Inc Magazine, Government Var, Storage Magazine, Messaging News, Wireless Week, Machinist Magazine, Sports Business Journal, 2600 Hackers Quarterly, Athletic Business, TransWorld Business, The National Jurist, Wired Magazine, SlashDot, Digg, IPMenu to name a few...

I like to tinker with things. Sometimes, rather big things. My 2000 Dodge Ram 5.2L V8 decided it wanted to throw a rod and retire after only 120,000 miles. I thought this was way too early to die for this man's truck.

Well, since my Son is going to college for Mechanical Engineering. I figured I owed it to him to test drive his skills to be (and he did believed me!)  So we replaced the 318ci with a long block bought from Everdrive motors and began the project.

It took us a couple weeks, but if you boiled it down to actual work time, we had maybe three and a little, days into the swap. Not that hard, just hot and greasy!

Try some of the pictures here....

And, yes, it was a lot easier 20+ years ago...

However, I am big into skateboarding. You know, all work and no play.... Besides, I have to keep up with my kids. I still enjoy the vertical ramps and the pools the most.

Here I am, beyond the point of no return, dropping in on a six foot huge wooden cloverleaf bowl at Rye Airfield, Rye, NH.

And, yes, if I wore any more padding I'd be skating in a bubble...

Tinkering. Always trying to create "something new."

The left pict is actually me customizing a power supply for our home server.

I built a 1 TB raid, disk based whole home DVD server. Real movies on demand! Our home (yes, home) server, with me replacing a RAID drive is to the right.

Dreaming.

Sometimes ya just got to dream.
Especially when you are in the picture!

Writing and researching cool new ideas and patents of course!

THE DEMOTARIAN SOCIETY

Starting a new political party, the Demotarians.

You think I'm kidding? I'm not. 2012 will be my year (I'll change that date as necessary.)

My new party has the ideals of the Democratic Party (well, what they used to be) blended with the self responsibility of Libertarian ideals. Thusly, I have coined the name: Demotarian. You heard it here first!

And then I read more!

The Schools Law library is an endless source of information.

and much, much more...

There are 4 boxes to use in the defense of liberty: soap, ballot, jury, ammo. Use in that order. Starting now.
